As a Recruitment Manager of MedFocus LLC, Shakira Irizarry works closely with the Director of Recruiting and she oversees the daily workflow of staff recruiters. She leads, mentors and trains a team of recruiters to enable them to meet their professional goals. She actively recruits qualified candidates for clients in the Pharmaceutical, CRO and Biotech industries. She is responsible for sourcing, interviewing, training and referring applicants for positions throughout the Company. One of her primary goals is to ensure that each consultant’s needs and expectations are exceeded and that their overall experience with MedFocus is professional and positive.
Shakira joined MedFocus in 2003 as a Clinical Recruiter and was then promoted to Sr. Clinical Recruiter in March 2006, prior to being promoted to Recruitment Manager in August 2010.
Shakira was recognized in 2008 as a member of the MedFocus / inVentiv Clinical President's Circle, a milestone for employees who exceed their professional goals. She has also received other various awards, including Recruiter of the year 2008, and the Corporate Citizenship Award in 2009.
She has been in the staffing industry for over 12 years as both a Recruiter and Account Manager. Much of her staffing experience comes from working in the Information Technology consulting industry.
Shakira attended the University of IL at Chicago and earned her BA in Communications.
